WatchPin Privacy Policy
Pin moments while you watch.
Effective date: August 7, 2026
Overview
WatchPin is a Chrome extension that lets users save timestamped notes from video pages and reopen those saved moments later.
Data Collection
WatchPin does not collect, sell, share, or transmit personal user data.
Local Storage
WatchPin stores saved pins locally on the user's device using Chrome's local extension storage. A saved pin may include the video title, channel or site name, page URL, timestamp URL, timestamp, note, tag, and creation date. This data is used only to provide WatchPin's bookmark and library features.
Remote Servers
WatchPin does not send saved pins, browsing activity, notes, tags, or video information to external servers.
Video Downloads
WatchPin does not download videos or bypass platform restrictions. It only saves links and timestamps for moments the user chooses to bookmark.
Remote Code
WatchPin does not use remote code. The extension's code is included in the extension package installed through Chrome.
Permissions
- activeTab: used only after the user opens WatchPin on the active tab, so the extension can read the current video time and page title.
- scripting: used to run a small local script on the active tab to read HTML video timing and page metadata.
- storage: used to save pins, notes, tags, filters, and library data locally on the user's device.
